"Pin"teresting...

Pinterest is a new place I have come to love and have spent a long time gathering ideas and inspiration from. If only I time took half the time to pursue some of the ideas I have acquired from this site, that I spend just looking at them. However, most of the fun is just browsing at people's collection of beautiful things.

What is Pinterest? Its a place where people can catalogue things that they love, anything from food ideas, beautiful photos, party ideas, home decor, stuff for the kidlets. If you start "pinning" people can follow your collections and you can follow other people. Here are some "Pin"teresting things I have found as of late.

This diy dollhouse is fashioned out of a storage unit...so simple!

This photograph was taken using a technique call "bokeh" that blurry affect of the hearts in the backround. Love bokeh!

Love these wallpapered stairs!

This little message board is made simply by using a photo frame with a piece of scrapbooking paper lining the inside! Why didn't I think of that?

Love this site...Stumble Upon

Ever have those moments when you are bored on your computer, and want to browse through something on the world wide web but you just aren't sure what to look up? Well, I'm not sure if it's old news or not but if you haven't discovered Stumble Upon you have to check it out. Basically, you sign up and they ask you for your personal interests ie. decorating, food, wine, crafts...and then you press the "Stumble!" icon and it takes you directly to articles or webpages from websites and blogs that correspond to your interests. Here are some recent great things I have stumbled upon!

This cinnamon pull apart recipe looks delish! From a great site called http://www.joythebaker.com/

This picture made me seriously lol...I don't know if you can see the little girl in the middle sticking up her middle finger! http://www.ellen.warnerbros.com/

How cool is this kids bedroom...the bed is in the tree house! I found this at http://www.dornob.com/

I really want to try this photograpy idea that I found on http://www.pinterest.com/

Happy Stumbling!

All I really need to know I learned on the Oprah Show

I've been a loyal and loving fan of the Oprah show since I was old enough to remember. I remember growing up mom had a tv in the kitchen specifically so she wouldn't miss Oprah during dinner prep time at 4:00 p.m. Even in my young teens, Mom and I would chat over our own "light bulb" moments and jot down books that we wanted to buy after seeing something inspiring on the show. In fact, the namesake of this very blog is a happenstance of watching an episode of Oprah that first introduced me to Sarah Ban Breathnach's book Simple Abundance. It was through Oprah that I was first introduced to spiritual teachers like Eckhart Tolle, Maya Angelou and learned about the "Secret." Which then sparked my interest to learn more and I then discovered Deepak Chopra and Dr. Wayne Dyer. My soul was inspired.

Some of the greatest lessons and pieces of wisdom I have learned from watching the Oprah Show. Criticize her if you must, but from Oprah I personally take nothing but positive. I am grateful to the show for introducing me to people and topics that ultimately helped to shape the spiritual side of myself. As the Oprah show winds down her final season with only 6 shows left, whether you are a fan or not, I found this video on her website that I wanted to share about her secret to success. A great inspiring message!

Making room for baby

Lamp- www.etsy.com

With our little baby boy on his way very soon it's time we get down to business about creating a space just for him. Upon gathering inspiration I am drawn to the blue, brown and orange combination. Here are some items I have found that have inspired my baby boy's nursery. My hope is to get things started today!

An update...

In case you are wondering why haven't been blogging much this month, for my faithful and loyal readers I offer you the following excuses:

*If the sun blesses us with her presence I am outside with the kids at the crack of dawn till sundown(attempting to do yard work.)

*If the weather is raining, cold or crappy I have been curled up in my bed reading this Danielle Steel book, all these years I never read any Danielle Steel. Perhaps it's I'm so bored of being pregnant but the drama and romance have me hooked!

*Now I've been trying really hard to hold back on the whining but the truth is I am exhausted as I journey into my final trimester of this pregnancy, exhausted and aching from head to feet(I'm thinking about taking an earlier maternity leave)

4. After visiting an open house the other day and falling head over feet for this house, I am scrambling to get our house ready to sell. Terrible timing, but hey, when is a good time? Each day I have been tackling a new closet or cupboard to get ready. Each day I say to myself, "what the hell am I thinking?"

Have a wonderful Mother's Day,

See you soon xoxo,

Frugal Finds...new closet!

My mother in-law sets out to yard sale shop every Saturday morning for the entire season without fail. We usually set her out with a list of things that we need and she calls us if she finds something. Yesterday, we got a call and she found us a wardrobe closet (on our list) for a mere $10.00! Without seeing it I said sure, we'll take it. I figured even if it wasn't my taste I could paint it. Alex left to go pick it up in the van, and I was pleasantly surprised! It's already painted but actually suits our decor perfectly.

Because we live in an older home, closet space is few and far between so pieces like this are life savers. We don't have hall closet to hang coats and put shoes, so the dining room being the first room off the hallway has been elected our dining room/hall closet. I can't wait to buy my bigger house! However we make do with what we've got in our tiny charming little home. This seems like a pretty good solution for now.

Moral of the story...get out to those yard sales this summer friends!
